We offer 3 DME Tune versions for the N54 platform.
Stage 1 - Noticable increase in power and responsiveness. Applicable to every N54 equipped vehicle with no special equipment or modifications necessary. Introductory price: $649 (dyno graph)
Stage 2 - Substantial increase in power and responsiveness. Applicable to vehicles equipped with at minimum an oil cooler (OE or aftermarket). This DME Tune also takes advantage of other light modifications such as aftermarket intakes and exhaust systems. Introductory price: $649 (dyno graph)
Stage 3 - This DME Tune maxes out the capabilities of the stock turbochargers (within a threshold of safety) and is intended for vehicles with a minimum of an aftermarket oil cooler AND intercooler. Additional "breathing" modifications such as free-flowing intake and exhaust systems are also recommended in order to achieve the highest performance. Introductory price: $649
Over 1500 locations inside the DME are modified to offer the perfect balance of drivability and performance while maintaining 'daily driver' reliability.
DME Tune uses a Voigt & Haeffer Multicharger 750 to stabilize your vehicle's electrical system during the tuning process. The importance of constant and clean power during a reflash cannot be overstated. The V&H 750 is the only battery charger currently certified for reprogramming by BMW AG. This ensures that our flashing process is as safe and reliable as any reprogramming you would receive at a BMW dealership.
A. The
short answer is yes. Factory scan tools look for trouble codes and other signs
of problems. It is not until a severe repair is performed (engine, turbo,
transmission) that the DME software may come into question. To date, we have
had zero reports of warranty issues resulting from a DME Tune. Safety and reliability are top priorities of ours.
FACT: A DME Tune is even more
invisible to a dealership than a Dinan tune.
Q. Is
the factory speed limiter removed with a DME
Tune?
A. Yes.
Q. Are
the turbo lag issues associated with BMW’s most recent software updates
addressed with a DME Tune?
A. Yes.
Turbocharger responsiveness will improve noticeably.
Q. Why
is it so important to have a tune specifically made for my car’s existing
software?
A. BMW’s DME software is specifically tailored to the vehicle’s
hardware components. Unlike other flash tunes, including Dinan, which entirely
overwrite the DME’s original software with a generic file, our method makes
changes to the software already in your car’s computer. This ensures the
highest level of compatibility and avoids suspicious ‘software mismatch’
trouble codes.
Q.
Will
you check my car for hidden trouble codes for free?
A. Yes.
